ACCUTRON HISTORY-AS TOLD BY ADVERTISEMENTS

1965 and 1966

Click on the thumbnails to see a larger ad. Remember-They will take some time to load at the large size. Some of the full size images were lost.

I have designed this site for historical and educational purposes. As an added bonus, we get to see photos of Accutrons as they came from the factory. Viewers are encouraged to contribute ads, displays and press releases they may have for inclusion. I will be working on this as an ongoing project and encourage active participation. Thanks, Tom Mister.

Here (left) is a Press release That states the versatility of the ladies Pendant Watch which can take many forms. acc265.jpg These ads explained the ease of adjusting the rate of a 214 Accutron. All it takes is a toothpick!

This ad explains the Girl Accutron and its virtues. One interesting statement is that in early 1965, there were 6 ladies models and 58 gents models being made.

Another ad, aimed at Jewelers, says how easy it is to sell an Accutron because of the accuracy and the unique hum!

Customer testimonials continued as well. This man bought 7! (Sound familiar?)

Sales were booming! Bulova was still trying to add Jewelers to bolster their record sales.

This watch may be on the moon one day (but not first, false prophesy?). Accutron Blasts Off! Great picture of an original Astronaut.

Only 12 moving parts! Great ad.

Even watch timing machines were being linked to Accutrons to boost the sales of rate recorders.
Touted as the timepiece in Space, this ad has a wonderful Spaceview illustrated. What a difference a few minutes makes!
